DERMAL FILLLERS

During the ageing process, the facial fat pads (subcutaneous fat) shrink and move downwards. This results in a loss volume in the cheeks and an increased volume in lower face. Volume is also lost within the lips.

The folds in the skin such the nasolabial lines and the marionette lines also deepen.

 

Dermal Fillers are used to restore lost facial volume, enhance normal facial features, correct facial asymmetry, and fill facial lines.

The result is a face looking younger and fresher.

PRODUCT USED

Dermal Fillers are hyaluronic acid based soft tissue fillers.  

Hyaluronic acid is a substance found naturally in the body. 

I use the most common brand of dermal fillers, Juvéderm by Allergan.

Millions of people worldwide have had these injections and the safety of the product is well established.

 

HOW IT WORKS

Using a needle or a cannula, small quantities of the filler are injected. The product temporarily fills wrinkles, restore volume loss, giving the appearance of a smoother surface, and enhances features by lifting and supporting the skin in the area treated.

INDICATIONS

Dermal fillers are frequently used​​​​ to treat nose to mouth lines, cheeks, lips and lines around the lip.

However there are some other indications. For example, they can also be used to sharpen up the corner of the mouth, strengthen the jawline or fill a temporal hollowness.

DURATION OF TREATMENT

Approx. 30 min.

RECOVERY AFTER TREATMENT / DOWN TIME

Minimal recovery period with a full recovery estimated at 48h.

Most potential side effects are mild and temporary (e.g. swelling, bruising or tenderness at the injection site).

RESULTS*

You will notice an improvement immediately but it can take up to 14 days to see the full effect. 

The effects usually last between 6-12 months depending on the filler used in the Juvéderm range and your lifestyle.

PRE AND POST-TREATMENT CONSULTATIONS

As for all the procedures proposed, the treatment will only be administered after a free pre-treatment consultation.

During this consultation, the concerns of the patient will be discussed, a full assessment carried out, a tailored treatment proposed, alternative options, prices, cautions and contraindications discussed. 

Finally, written and detailed information will be given to the patient who will be able to take it away and read it before making their decision. 

 

Injectable procedures will also be followed by a free follow-up appointment 2-3 weeks after the treatment, to ensure we've got the best result possible. Any additional dermal fillers injections needed will be discussed at this appointment.
